Description: For many years, our motherland had always given in to our continuous demands. But now, as the climate changes, leaving her to suffer, would anyone listen to her pleas?
This video was produced for and entered in the National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS) Competition 2015.
It received 2nd Place.
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. It was co-edited by a teammate and I with feedback from our team and facilitators. The maximum duration allowed was 3 minutes and we had exceeded it, so we cut it down as much as we could allow. Also we had some camera shake in one of the shots and had to stabilize it which took a long time to adjust and render.

Description: Kevin is a friend of a teen who committed suicide, in this interview he shares his thoughts and feelings.
This video was produced for my Final Year Project (FYP) 2016. It was solely edited by me with feedback from teammates and facilitators. Edited using Adobe Premiere Pro CC. It was initially too long to hold attention spans, so I had to keep shortening it while keeping the important parts of the interviewee's speech.
Anybody has potential to be suicidal, it is not just a certain group of people that will become suicidal. We must be aware of the signs and help these youths at risk, communication is key, do not judge them but listen and understand them. Weigh the options with the teen before deciding to seek help from helplines like S.O.S Hotline (1800-221-4444) or a trusted counsellor.
During this time, the teen will need all of your support and understanding, to be there for them and let them know that suicide is not an option, that there is more to life and you can help them through it.
This video was commissioned by Tampines West Community Club (TWCC) to showcase 3 of many CC groups supported by TWCC.
I was the editor for this video during my internship with Film Mall Pte Ltd. I was guided by the director on how he would like the video
to be like. This was edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Davinci Resolve Lite.
I had issues with the video length, the director insisted that I keep shortening it. I had to watch the video from start to end over and over again to remove unnecessary parts which took a long time.
This was when I just started learning to colour videos using Davinci Resolve 12 Lite. Some footage had quite different details even though they were filmed in the same place, the colour, exposure and contrast had to be adjusted a ways off from the main settings
I apply to nearly every footage in the same area.
Also, due to much movement in the footage, I had to key and track movement as the colouring would be off when someone moved
too much and revealed intense sunlight or introduced a colour that was unaccounted for in the starting of the video.
Up, Up Toward the Unknown
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CC
I took this photo with a flash from a phone from the side to create the shadow on the wall. The streaks of light were naturally made from coming in through the window of the door at the top of the stairs.
I edited the contrast, exposure and increased the shadows. It was difficult to decide on where the shadow should be, but I thought what if the shadow looked like it was following her every step of the way and thus left the shadow alone and not edited out with another.

A Warp-way to Another World, Perhaps
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CC
Taken with an extension tube, it was difficult to
focus on the image within the fragile droplet as it could drop anytime.
Although the tripod I used was too bulky against the railings the droplet hanged from, I managed to fit the camera at the right angle to take this extreme close up.

I increased the contrast and vibrancy of the overall photo, then made shadows darker to make the food look mysterious in the dark.

Zen
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CC
I edited the plate using the healing tool and blur
tool as there were rice stains from the previous positioning of the sushi that I did not notice at the time of taking the photo.
I increased contrast, vibrancy and exposure to make the image more vibrant and inviting.

I edited the exposure since it was all white and image was quite bright. I isolated the middle cotton swab in another layer, then added shadows and contrast to it so that it pops out from the rest.

Teeth Primed and Sharpened for Feasting
Edited with Adobe Photoshop CC
This dining knife was taken using an extension tube attached to the camera lens, so that there would be a proper close up of the
fine edges.
I had to put the lens really close to the knife in
order to take this shot, it was difficult as the lens would sometimes graze against it for being too close. It took me some time adjusting the distance and angle of the knife before the composition I was looking for came into view.

Water is Life
One of the three images I entered in the Clean Tech Park(CTP) Competition 2014, organised by JTC Corp.
This was taken from the stone bridge there. The
only problem was finding a good composition to make the subjects in the image
look good and not awkwardly cut off at points, as the lake was quite wide and
had more that could be included but would make the photo too "busy".
Water is Life
One of the three images I entered in the Clean Tech Park(CTP) Competition 2014, organised by JTC Corp.
The flower's purplish-pink hue stands out from the green and grey of the background, hinting that is "pink with vigour" thus indicating life. It grows from the water and thus has life due to this water.
I had to squat low for this image as well, but now this flower was at the bank of the lake, so I had to be careful as to not fall in as the way down was a little steep.
Water is Life
Received Consolation prize in Clean Tech Park (CTP) Competition 2014.
The competition required participants to define the theme "Water is Life" with their photos while showcasing the new park. I thought "When there is water, there is life", so I took to photographing plants growing out of the water.
It was difficult to photograph as I had to squat low and put my camera near it to get the details I wanted. The area where image was taken, was surrounded by large grey rocks like an enclosure to keep the water in, so I had to be careful of my footing.

Freshness for Life
Received Merit award in Freshness for Life Photography Competition 2011, organised by School Of Photography (SOP) and Seng Choon Farm Ptd Ltd.
I had trouble finding what meant "Freshness for Life", but when I saw this water droplet upon lily pad in the pond I felt that the water refreshed the lily pad and many other plant life as well.
This was taken with a normal digital camera, then edited with Adobe Photoshop.
Activ
Produced for a Mid-Semester Assessment that required us to create advertising collateral for a made-up company called Activ, a start-up business that sells healthy fruit yogurt drinks with young adults as the main target audience.
All collateral were edited with Adobe Illustrator CC and Adobe Photoshop CC
Pamphlet:
The pamphlet contains information about the yogurt drink Activ. As per guidelines, all the given text, QR code, website and company logo must be included.
I stuck to the colour scheme that would represent the yogurt bottles of each individual flavour, and it shows the 'energy' of the brand with such colourful pages.
I believe that cute illustrations attract people more than actual photos might. Thus the cartoon-like design is present across all Activ collateral to ensure continuity.
Logo:
The slogan, "Express Your Zeal" made the yogurt drink sound like an energizing drink, which meant I had to make collateral that reflected that enthusiasm.
Having different colours in the logo shows vibrancy and energized-fun, while also representing some of the common flavours available with the drink; e.g. pink dragon fruit.
Poster 2:
Out of four words that were required in the posters, I chose "Drink Smarter... Give It A Go" to be used in this poster. As per guidelines: QR code, website and company logo also must be included.
I create the image where the drink was used as "brain juice" that suggested drinking the yogurt was beneficial to them, like a health boost not only for the body but also for the mind, as seen from the happy face and the drink being directly poured onto the brain.

Poster 1:
Out of four given phrases that were required in the posters, I chose "Express your Zeal" and "Any Time Energy Drink" to be used in the first poster. As per guideline: QR code, website and company logo also must be included.
I decided to use the first poster to introduce audiences to the drink, let them know what it looks like so they know what to look out for when searching for the drink. I gave it a pink theme like the flavour of the yogurt drink, making it look visually pleasing.
Classwork
Produced for class, situations were presented to us and we had to come up with a design that solved the situation.
SG50 Stamps
This project required us to create stamps that could be used for the SG50 stamp collection.
Singapore was a foodie nation, so I thought of the foods that would remind people of Singapore. Even if the food did not originate here, they are widely known or even loved by Singaporeans, especially since we have incorporated it into our food culture.
Typography Art
These are two pages from my class project for a "Guide to Colour and Typography".
It was very difficult at first but I got used to the various ways to position the words correctly and ensure they depicted the illusion of the object or subject being described.
Nurture World Peace
Edited with Adobe Illustrator CC and Adobe Photoshop CC
The tagline "For our Children. For our Future", I felt that children were innocent and should not be involved with violence or chaos, to grow up in a peaceful environment ensures that they carry this sentiment on to the next generation. Thus we must "Nurture World Peace"
I traced an image and used colour to create negative space to show the dove's features. I edited the dove to ensure correct details as the trace was not accurate so some feathers and part of the tail were of a different coloured and thus cut off.
Crocodile Club
Edited with Adobe Illustrator CC and Adobe Photoshop CC
We were to create a logo based on what the fake company business was. Crocodile Club was a golfing enthusiasts group.
Crocodile was in the title so I thought of using the animal as a part of the logo, making it iconic, easy to associate and remember.
The texture on the crocodile is that of a golf
ball, to relate the logo back to the reason for the group and their interests which involved hitting golf balls.
